A professional ballerina with a passion for performing, creating, teaching, business, and Tik Tok.

 

Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Laura began her dance journey at the age of 2. Ever since, Laura hasn't stopped. During her adolescence, Laura trained at Philadelphia Dance Theater, performed with the Pennsylvania Ballet, and attended a variety of prestigious summer intensives. After, Laura went on to join the Texas Ballet Theater where she is currently in her 8th season. At Texas Ballet Theater,  Gruener has most enjoyed performing Fairy Generosity in Ben Stevenson's Sleeping Beauty, in the world premiere of Garrett Smith’s Imbue, and in Christopher Wheeldon’s DGV©: Danse à Grande Vitesse. Additionally, Laura was a featured cast member on the Ovation original TV series “A Chance to Dance.”

While Laura is still a professional herself, the last few years have inspired a passion for choreographing and teaching the next generation of dancers. During the current pandemic, Laura has been actively teaching students across the country via zoom. Laura has also begun using Tik Tok as an incredible tool to give ballet tips and connect with various generations of dance lovers.
